CHOPIN Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise for piano and String Quintet
Hyun Yoon, 17, is a senior at Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek. He has won first place in many competitions, including the Pacific Northwest Piano Competition, the Tokyo International Festival, the SCMTA Concerto Competition, and PAFE. Hyun is continuously recognized for his musical talent as he was invited to perform with the Bellevue Symphony, the Mukilteo Symphony, and the various chamber groups to perform as a soloist. As an avid four-hand performer with his siblings, they have won first place at the Russian Chamber Music Festival, the Sanford Wright Piano Competition, and the SIPF Virtuoso Festival. Hyun has appeared on KING 98.1 live broadcasts and performed at Benaroya Hall several times. Aside from the piano, Hyun is a cellist and plays in the Seattle Youth Symphony. He also founded Jackson Music Association, an inclusive community at his school that encourages people to learn music and collaborate with other musicians.

CHOPIN Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, for piano and String Quintet (Kevin Kenner arrangement)
Melanie Yutong Liu, age 14, is a 9th grader at Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Washington. Her orchestral engagements comprise the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 with Eastside Symphony, Brahms Piano Concerto No.2 with Mukilteo Orchestra, and Prokofiev Concerto No.2 with Bellevue Symphony. Melanie has won several competitions including the 1st prizes in the following competitions: 9th Annual Rome International Music Competition, the 2022 UK International Competition, 2022 KMA Music Competition, 2021 Russian Chamber Music Foundation Competition, 2021 Virtuoso Artists Festival Concerto Competition, the 2021 SCMTA Concerto Competition, Gold Medal at the 2021 Chopin NW Piano Competition, the 2020 Russian, Gold Medal at the Pacific NW Piano Concerto Competition, 1st prize at the 2021 Performance Arts Festival of Eastside. Outside of piano, Melanie also enjoys playing the violin. She loves reading, art, and cycling. She also enjoys math and science at school.
Enzo Zhao
CHOPIN Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21, for piano and String Quintet (Kevin Kenner arrangement)
Enzo Zhao is 13 years old and attends Curtis Junior High in University Place. He has been playing piano for eight years and enjoys sharing music with others. For the last six years, he has been studying with Dr. Oksana Ejokina. He has won numerous gold and silver medals at the Chopin NW competition, SIPF Bach competition, as well as the Russian Music Festival competition. Most recently, he won Gold Alternate at the Chopin NW Concerto Division. Additionally, Enzo placed 3rd in the Washington State Outstanding Young Artists Piano Competition in fall of 2022 and 2nd in the Olympia Symphony Young Artists Competition that recently took place. Over the last four years, Enzo enjoyed performing several concerto movements with orchestra at the Orchestral Recital Series of Tacoma Concerto Festival. When not playing the piano, Enzo takes interest in chess, puzzles, and tennis. In the future, he hopes to achieve his dream of becoming a concert pianist.
